Should I take unpaid time off before starting new job?

I accepted a new job offer at my company and start in 3 weeks. I have been debating on whether to take a week off before starting the new job. I am transitioning from a fully remote, somewhat easy job during a very slow period doing minimal work to a new hybrid role where I’ll be in office 3 days/wk.
Side point: I feel like I’ll get asked why I’d leave my current role for the new one so here’s why. The new job pays $1k-$2.5k more after taxes and has great health insurance benefits.

I don’t have any plans to travel, but I really want to take a trip somewhere to relax. I haven’t taken a proper vacation in like 6 years.

However, I don’t have paid time off so I would miss out on a week’s worth of pay (I currently get paid weekly). If I don’t take a proper vacation I feel like taking a week off is pointless.

This is my first job in corporate America that I’ll be getting promoted from, so I don’t really know how best to handle the transition. Any advice is much appreciated.
