Considering leaving my FT job for a contract job, is a bad idea?

I have a FT job with good benefits, 2 weeks PTO that I’m considering leaving for a contract position. I’ve only been with the company since April and it’s miserable. Poor leadership from my brand new manager to the executives. I’m considering a contract role but it’s new to me. I understand there is no PTO, no benefits and essentially I could end up unemployed once it ends. Is there anything else I should consider when making this decision? The other options I see are 1. waiting for a FT job offer or 2. quitting from sheer burn out and have no job.
