Should I pursue what I love, or pursue what makes money?

I’m a senior in high school and I’m about to start applying for colleges. My whole life I’ve had an interest in computers/technology and I’ve had a knack for coding. I’ve also LOVED US history my whole life, like, absolutely loved it.

Around a year ago, I decided that I would want to pursue a career in teaching, with hopes of becoming a US History teacher. I know that teaching doesn’t make a lot of money, but I truly believe that educating others on what I love is something I’d enjoy doing

On the other hand, I know that I have a knack for technology, a field that generally pays well. What I don’t know is if I would enjoy going into work everyday doing it.

Based on your past experiences, what do y’all think would be the best for me in terms of enjoying what I do and making enough money to be happy outside of work?
