What are good careers for deep but slow thinkers?

[ad_1]

I consider myself an intelligent and extroverted person but I really lack the quick/sharp thinking and decision-making skills that so many employers seem to put a huge premium on nowadays.

As a hypothetical example, if you give me a problem (business; practical; theoretical) to solve with a 10 minute deadline, I will fail miserably. But if you give me a week, I would back myself to find the best, most meticulously thought out solution possible. However, it seems most jobs are so fast paced / high pressure now that more thoughtful candidates such as me are often not a good match.

For context, I’m 27M with a first class degree in Politics from a top UK university. For the last 3/4 years I’ve been working as an investigator for a corporate intelligence company. Whilst this job suits my skills well enough (intellectually engaging with flexible deadlines), I’m restless and keen to see what else is out there.

Many thanks for any advice.
