Feeling like my boss lacks respect for me. How to appropriately respond?

I’m 31M and my manager is 45M. We both started about 1 year ago and started to get along pretty well. I’m the most senior person on his team. He’s a good guy and does well at his job. As of late, I started to put distance between us due to an increase in the following:

1. In the middle of our 1-on-1 meetings, he picks up his phone while I’m speaking and spaces out, then asks me to repeat everything I’ve said after he’s started paying attention again. Other times, I’m sitting with him showing him something and he starts working on a different task than the one we are discussing and I sit there quietly until he can return his attention to me. I feel like a child when he does this.

2. He slightly talks bad about people on the team. He says things about others to me. Also, I’ve found out through other coworkers that he’s said I’m a complainer, when in reality, I ask questions when things don’t make sense(ie. scheduling, task distribution). It’s to the point where I do not ask questions because I don’t want to come off as complaining in his eyes. When he complains about others to me, I have started to stay quiet or give a general response.

My morale is down and although I love my job, this is making me feel unmotivated at times. How should I respond when these things happen?
