Currently working as a senior controls software developer for industrial automation machines but I want to make the switch to a more traditional software role such as an embedded C++ role or .Net C# role. I have a lot of experience with scripting in various languages such as C, C++, C# etc. But don’t have much experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure. I have a degree in Mechatronic Engineering and love software.
Currently on 60k in Ireland but am willing to take a bit of a hit to salary for the experience. Should I go back to college and get a CS degree or just try to get a junior dev job?
