22 fresh out of college, what do I do with my life? (Located in Nor Cal)

Apologies in advance for the long post, but I don’t have anyone to talk to in my life about this. I’m 22 years old and just graduated with a BA in psychology as my original plan was to get my masters and go into guidance counseling/academic advising. But, I realized that as much as I like the idea of the work I don’t want that lifestyle.

From 16-22 I was a waitress and missed all holidays and family events. Food service sucks but is great money. Now, I work for a small spirits brokerage/distribution company where I am part of the operations team ($25 an hour) and while I enjoy my job and the fast paced environment I’m stuck in the 9-5 Mon-Fri lifestyle I didn’t want again.

My husband is just getting into his career and in the next year will be making great money to support us so I will have the freedom to either go back to school or find a field I actually enjoy. Work like balance/low-med stress is really the life style I want. All I’ve ever worked in were high stress jobs and my 40 hour week is just plain soul sucking.

I’m a fairly quick learner, I graduated summa cum laude from university and am already on my own at my job after 3 months (last two people in my position took 6-8 months). I’m also willing to try out anything as I’m not super picky about what the work is, just that it gives me the lifestyle I want to have. My husband’s schedule is 4 10s and then 3 12s and I’d love to have more freedom in my schedule to work around his as well as start a family in the next 2-3 years.

Please help with any suggestions, possible careers paths, anything. tia!
