I am in a local state government job I that’s not right for my career. I worry that if I leave this soon, they may not take me back in the future if I apply for a better job. Especially since my team is not the happiest with me, though so far I have positive written reviews. One co-worker who I learn the most from has expressed her unhappiness with the idea of this.
I also thought about staying past a year so that I can apply to other state gov jobs, but I imagine my boss will probably stop me from moving before 1.5-2 years. And I fear my performance may worsen by then when work becomes harder as they don’t believe in training much here, in some work is really out of our league, just thrown on us with no help.
