I have been very interested in psychology (especially transpersonal/spiritual psych) and the study of consciousness for the last 10-15 years. I ended up getting a BA in psychology and a MA in public health / epidemiology (with a good number of graduate psychology classes as well). I have always thought I have a mind well-suited for research, and being a research psychologist would probably be my ideal career. However, since going to grad school, I realized that statistics is not really my forte. And I can’t seem to find the motivation to master this subject. I have also not been able to find work in epidemiology in the past year since graduating, and now I am wondering if I should have just stuck with my passion, which is psychology. Do you have any career advice for me? My main thoughts at the moment are either to go back school to become a therapist/clinical psychologist (which means accruing debt and delaying making money), or continue trying to find some kind of job related to both public health/epidemiology and psychology. I probably have some better job search tactics than I used to, but a big part of that is clarifying my goals.
