How do I respond to question on my current position during the interview?

Hello folks!

I have a question on interviewing- during the interview process if they ask about my current position is, how do I approach it?

For context, my promotion has been dragged for over a year now and I don’t want to undersell myself by saying I’m not in a senior position.

Is it okay to say I’m due for a promotion or that it is in the works?

Do any of you have any suggestions to answer this question?
