Networking with a Senior Director internally to get part time job- progress being made?

Right now I’m an intern for an aerospace company, and I graduate in about a year. I’ve been trying to get a part time job while working until I graduate (term limits for interns) and literally everyone on my team supports this and has been working to get me to stick on.

At a party a few days ago, one of my coworkers was talking about me to a Sr Director about getting me to stay on and he said for me to talk to him, and I did. He asked to give him an elevator pitch about my past experience and my future desires, asked some questions and then said to talk to him in his office later next week to talk more since he had to leave the party early…

Would this be a good sign he’s somewhat interested, or too early to tell? and what should I prepare myself with before talking to him?
