Will my Southern Accent negatively affect me in Tech?
Will my accent disadvantage me when I go to speak. Stereotypes follow the accent. And when working in multi culture cross functional teams I feel my accent will affect me negatively in some cases. I’ve seen this take place several times where people begin making assumption simply because I carry a southern accent around. North Carolina Southern accent but not a full blown red neck. People in in the cities only an hour away even notice the accent even tho it’s subtle.

Another edit: I’ve traveled a good bit across the U.S. & internationally.
