Is it OK to ask for the minimum in the salary range if you think that’s fair?

Quick rundown of my history: I worked as a software developer for a small company, quit to become a 3rd grade teacher, and now am looking to get back into software.

The job I’m currently in the final stages of applying for is a senior position, and the lower end of their salary range is \~3x what I was making in my last dev job, and 5x what I was making as a teacher, so needless to say I won’t exactly be starving if I get land job. Considering this is my first senior position, I don’t see anything unfair with them starting me out at the lowest end.

Am I overlooking anything though? Could this come back to bite me later, or could asking for the lowest in the salary range make me look “unmotivated,” or some other corporate BS?
