Really Having A Hard Time Making A Career Decision. Any Advice?

I’ve been with my current company for a little over two years now. I would say I enjoy my current position for the most part. I was also recently promoted and I’ve been in my current role for around six months.

Even though I enjoy the position itself, my job definitely has its downsides. For one, I am required to be in the office three days a week. This isn’t really an issue, the issue is that my commute to our office is 45-50 minutes on a good day, and an hour to an hour and 15 minutes on a bad day. I also pay $50 bucks a month for parking. I am supposed to be moving to a closer office by the end of 2024.

The culture itself is…meh I suppose. There are a few colleges that I really like and talk to frequently, but morale (or something) seems low overall and almost feels like nobody wants to be there. I definitely don’t feel like we are a team, more like a bunch of separate people working towards a similar goal. I sit in a section with three other people around me (one being my boss right behind me) and I could go a whole day (sometime more) without anyone saying anything. Not even a hi or bye when the come in or leave. My boss is kind of an odd guy. He is kind of aloof, seems to have a hard time providing guidance or feedback. More like a no news is good news type of relationship, which is fine. There aren’t really any resource groups I can join either. I was a part of a committee that did some cool stuff in the department, but it basically disintegrated and never really reformed. Its Current salary is $80k annually.

I got tired one day of the drive and applied to another company on a whim. I ended up interviewing and getting an offer. It’s a Fortune 500 company, would be a promotion, an $18k raise (98k annually) and it’s about a 20-minute commute.

I guess I’m really struggling to make this move. I don’t know what I would be getting into with this new role and manager. It could be terrible. I also feel like I really have more to learn in my current position. I also feel like I’ve really established a positive reputation within the company and someone who is valued. Even though I’ve been with the company for two years, I’ve only been in my role for six months. I feel like that might not look the best. The company has also did me a few solids when I got married and when my grandma passed away.

I guess I feel somewhat of a sense of loyalty and I don’t want to be someone who changes jobs just for the money continuously. It could also be perhaps because this is the same company that stuck their nose up at me in college for not having a 3.0 GPA and again later ghosted me after spending an entire day doing rotating interviews.

Any advice? Also I’m located in Ohio
