How can I deal with the physical pain of standing all day at my retail job and do you have any suggestions for things to do in my downtime at work so I am not wasting time doing nothing?

So I got my first job in retail at a Fragrance store and we are required to stand for 6-8 hours at a time (sometimes more) and my feet have really started to hurt. In addition to that it has been very slow at times. We have spent hours without making sales or having customers at times and I end up just scrolling on my phone wasting time. They won’t allow us to sit down and we are not supposed to wear tennis shoes even though I do it when the upper management is not there.

Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid pain or discomfort from walking and standing all day in a retail environment. Also is there anything that you’d recommend that I can do in the downtime at work to help me stay productive and invest in myself while I have nothing to do?

All advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
