I know this is probably incredibly dumb, but I accepted a job offer last week, I started working yesterday, and I really want to get out of this place. It’s my mistake, really. Who interviewed me (the owner) was very honest with what they were looking for, but after testing the environment a little bit, I want to leave.
He wants me to create his entire company from scratch, and considering I don’t have a lot of experience in this, plus I don’t have any coworkers, I feel incredibly lonely. I don’t even know why he hired me, I definitely don’t have the experience needed. The company’s owner is all “tell me what you need and we’ll do it” mode, but because of my lack of experience, I feel like nothing I do can be right. It’s my insecurities talking, but I feel like I’m biting off more than I can chew and there’s no chance I’ll be successful in this job. I won’t make the monthly target he proposed, there’s no chance at all.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to approach this conversation?
