Basically I’ve given my 4 weeks notice today I work in a salon and I’ve not been enjoying it for a while, the late evenings and working weekends is getting to me and I have no work life balance, also have been under appreciated the whole time I’ve worked here, my boss is intimidating and minipulative and lies a lot. She took my resignation better than I expected but asked me if I could push it back to finish after Christmas instead as we have clients booked in the week after I’m due to leave. I feel bad. I had already asked my new job if this was possible and they said they’d prefer me to start before Christmas. I relayed this to my current boss and she said “they’re not going to not give you the job because of it” but I don’t want to piss off my new employer! My current boss is already messaging me and it’s only been an hour since our phone call, she’s saying i’ll be letting all the clients and the other girls I work with down if I leave before Christmas. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to be an asshole but also don’t want to piss off my new job!
