Thinking about becoming a counselor/therapist. What are the pros and cons/ experiences of those currently in the field?

I went to school for sociology with a human services concentration. Really have never had a career that I know I want to follow. I’m really good with people. One of my favorite things to do is come on Reddit and talk to people, share advice and listen to responses – I just really love people honestly! Thinking about switching from HR/Onboarding and going back to school to be a counselor. Those out there currently in a role like this what are the positives and negatives? Also with a BA what additional schooling would be required? I know therapist and counselor are two different degrees but really just looking to see what people really think about the career.
