I have around 11 years of experience working in software industry. I started my career in an Indian software company that deals basically in providing support and maintenance to legacy systems. So throughout my career I was never exposed to latest tools and technology. Since last 2 years I have started working in product based company in Europe. So I want to become a better software engineer, by learning principles of modern software development and understanding of architectures and best practices. I feel very hopeless, that all my peers have better understanding of software development. How do I start with learning about the actual stuff. Please advise me. I have experience in java, spring boot etc. How to get actual experience so that I can hone my skills.
